Un Consultore del Sant’Uffizio al concilio: P. Ermenegildo Lio tra morale “nuova” e “perenne”

The present study on the Franciscan Fr. Ermenegildo Lio starts from the discovery and analysis
of one his manuscripts, a personal diary relating to the first session of the Vatican Council
II. On this document it is possible to point out the unpublished and first-hand point of
view of one of the undisputed protagonists of what was then defined as the minority at the
council, thus allowing to better understand its orientation. Furthermore, the present study
provides a summary of what was the important contribution of the Franciscan to the two
constitutions Gaudium et Spes and Lumen gentium, with the aim of deepening the studies
with further archive investigations.
